florence pictures, Filippo Brunelleschi was born in Florence in 1377. His father was called Brunellesco Di Lippo and he was a notary. Brunellesco wanted his son to study laws to become a notary one day, but Filippo liked the art and his great passion took him to study arts.
In 1401 Florence's Lordship announced a contest to sculpture the Baptistry's door. Brunelleschi and Ghiberti won the contest but the door was carved by Ghiberti only. Brunelleschi began to draw monumental architectures and to study the Classic monuments. Brunelleschi died in 1446 in Florence, under his " Cupola". The city of Florence owes great part of its success to this artist and architect florence pictures. Giorgio Vasari was born in 1511 in Arezzo. He began to study art and art history in his native city. In 1524 he went to Florence where worked in the art laboratories directed by Andrea del Sarto and Andrea Bandinelli. In 1527 when the Medici family was driven out by the revolutionary people he left the city following Ippolito Medici in Rome. He met Michelangelo in Rome and continued to study painting and architecture. From 1554 he began to work at a lot of project in Florence, florence pictures, and in other Tuscany cities. In particular he work on the paintings decorations of Palazzo Vecchio, and of the Uffizzi palaces. In Pisa he designed the palace and the Church of Santo Stefano cavaliers. At the beginning of 1400 AD Florence, as many others Italian cities, was governed by a Lordship. In particular there were many important families aspiring to leadership; Medici's family was one of those. They managed to gain power writing Florence history for many years.
They became rich because of their ability in commerce and trade. In 1433-1434 "Cosimo de Medici" fought, by common people side, the rich oligarchy dominating Florence. After that he was the triumphing and well-liked Lord of Florence, florence pictures. The public opinion put Florence in his hands because he was able to take wise decisions for the city and to govern in peace. Cosimo signed many peace treaties with the most important Lordships in Italy to ensure a period of quiet and stillness. During this period art and culture were incremented by the Duke that loved to be surrounded by the most famous artists of the period. After Cosimo, florence pictures, Piero de Medici became Lord and after him Lorenzo "il Magnifico" governed the city. Many times the opposite families tried to drive the Medici out from the city but this never happened for many years.
